Job Summary

The Account Management Representative has omni-channel responsibilities for developing, executing, and nurturing a collaborative business partnership between large retail accounts and ACCO Brands. Consumer Retail Accounts are key strategic partnerships for ACCO Brands that deliver strength in market share, essential volume, and opportunities for growth. This role is responsible for being the voice of the customer and will communicate strategic objectives, critical needs, and opportunities for ACCO Brands to be a solution in all sales channels. This role will be a key contributor to pricing, strategic business reviews, sales plans, and go-to-market strategies. To accomplish this, we are looking for an entrepreneurial, nimble, and passionate individual to join the team. 

Responsibilities

  • Direct selling and management accountability for a variety of product categories.
  • Demonstrate "best-in-class" account management, driving growth in revenue and net margin to help us achieve and exceed our goals.  
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to win for your business, with a clear path to goal achievement.
  • Act as the business manager of your business, including cross-functional team leadership.
  • Own and support managing strategic business reviews for key categories.
    • Must help to build strategies that support both ACCO Brands and customer goals each fiscal year.
    • Report and provide recommendations both internally and externally.
  • Lead sales presentations, business reviews, and category updates using POS, Circana Data, and additional in-house resources such as marketing, category management, and consumer research.
  • Work with internal cross functional partners in demand planning, category management, supply chain, sales support, customer, and product marketing teams to develop accurate sales goals and achieve specified levels of business performance accuracy.
  • Integrate and collaborate with sales organization to ensure compliance with all contracts and alignment of all opportunities.
  • Build excellent customer relationships with buyers and cross functional customer team members (Planners, Supply Chain, etc.).
  • Be the voice of the customer, lead and communicate important initiatives and needs of the customer to deliver collaborative objectives.
  • Monitor competitors' brands and products as well as our market share, competitor market share, and customer market share to understand trends and opportunities and communicating to appropriate teams that drive results. 

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree preferred with major in Marketing, Management, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. 
  • Experience working directly with national retail accounts in mass, food, drug, value, craft, and/or hardware.
  • Strategic, action-oriented sales leader with a proven track record of navigating obstacles, delivering results, and fostering team success through a hands-on, collaborative approach.
  • Knowledge on how to manage a strategic business plan and ability to manipulate/analyze data to ensure financials are on track to targets/goals.
  • Strong financial and overall business acumen with experience building and presenting P&Ls.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem resolution skills.
  • Team player and collaborator with ability to develop strong, productive relationships with colleagues. 
  • Strong planning and organizational skills; proven ability to establish business, product, and market plans with quantitative methods.
  • Willing to travel up to 20-40% seasonally.

 

Salary Range: $50,000 - $75,000. Compensation is commensurate with geographical location and experience.
