Job Summary

ACCO Brands is seeking an Associate Channel Marketing Manager to support National Retail Accounts in Kettering, Ohio. Reporting to the Channel Marketing Manager, this role serves as a key liaison between sales, brand marketing, product marketing, category management, and retail customers to drive execution of channel marketing programs, promotional initiatives, and product commercialization activities.


As a member of the U.S. Sales organization, the Associate Channel Marketing Manager supports the planning, execution, and optimization of customer-focused marketing initiatives that strengthen brand presence, improve customer engagement, and drive sales growth. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between corporate marketing strategies and channel-specific execution plans.

Responsibilities

Channel Marketing & Program Execution

  • Support the development and execution of channel-specific marketing programs and promotional initiatives in partnership with Sales, Brand Marketing, and Channel Leadership.
  • Assist in translating brand and product marketing strategies into customer-facing marketing activities that drive awareness, engagement, and sales performance.
  • Coordinate launch activities for new product introductions, ensuring alignment across Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Customer teams.
  • Support the execution of merchandising, promotional, and activation programs tailored to customer requirements and channel objectives.
  • Monitor program timelines, deliverables, and performance metrics to ensure successful implementation.

Customer & Sales Support

  • Collaborate with Sales teams to identify opportunities for product placement, promotional support, and enhanced customer engagement.
  • Prepare customer presentations, sales support materials, concept boards, and product samples for customer meetings and reviews.
  • Participate in customer-facing meetings and presentations, providing marketing insights and program support.
  • Assist with competitive reviews, promotional analyses, and customer business assessments.

Insights & Analytics

  • Analyze sales trends, POS data, market research, and category insights to identify opportunities and support business recommendations.
  • Track and report key performance indicators for channel marketing programs and promotional activities.
  • Monitor competitor activity, product trends, and marketplace developments to help inform marketing recommendations.
  • Support post-program evaluations and recommend opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Category Management, Product Marketing, Supply Chain, Forecasting, and Customer Service teams to support successful program execution.
  • Coordinate communication across functional teams to ensure alignment on customer initiatives and business priorities.
  • Participate in regular business reviews and cross-functional meetings to support execution and issue resolution.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and effectiveness across channel marketing activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in channel marketing, shopper marketing, trade marketing, sales support, or related commercial functions.
  • Experience supporting marketing programs within a consumer products, retail, or branded goods environment preferred.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with experience utilizing sales data, POS reporting, market research, and business insights.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrixed, cross-functional environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20-25%.
